Regional update: Travel to yellow zones prohibited

There is one new case of COVID-19 in the Magdalen Islands bringing the overall total number of cases in the Gaspé Peninsula and Magdalen Islands to 1763. There are currently 8 active cases and one hospitalization.

Quebec has announced new measures for red and orange zones in order to control the spread of COVID-19 variants. The new measures will come in to effect Thursday, April 8. The Gaspé Peninsula remains “yellow” for the time being, without any changes to the measures. However, individuals residing in “red” or “orange” zones are no longer permitted to enter “yellow” zones.
