Mother’s Day

Mother's Day

Dear Mother

To one who bears the sweetest name,

And adds lustre to the same.

Long life to her, for there’s no other.

Who takes the place of my dear mother.

Everything Mom

How did you find the energy, Mom

To do all the things you did,

To be a teacher, nurse and counsellor

To me, when I was a kid?

How did you do it all, Mom,

Be a chauffeur, cook and friend,

Yet find time to be a playmate?

I just can’t comprehend.

I see now it was love, mom

That made you come when I would call.

Your inexhaustible love, Mom

And I thank you for it all.

Mom expressions

A face only a mother could love

A mother hen

Be tied to mother’s apron strings

Experience is the mother of wisdom

Mother Nature

A mama’s boy

He that would the daughter win, must with the mother first begin.

Like mother, like daughter

Necessity is the mother of intervention

Mother’s milk

Mother tongue or mother country

Mothers and daughters are closest when daughters become mothers.

I never knew how much love my heart could hold until someone called me mommy.

Life doesn’t come with a manual; it comes with a mother.

Guinness Book of World Records:

The greatest recorded number of children born to one mother is 69. This was in the 1700’s in Russia. In 27 pregnancies, M. Vassilyeva gave birth to 16 pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets and four sets of quadruplets. So, 16 x 2 = 32 plus 7 x 3 = 21 plus 4 x 4 = 16 for a total of 69 babies.
