The Gaspé Peninsula and Magdalen Islands Public Health Board reported two new cases of COVID-19 on July 20. One of the new cases is located in the Avignon MRC and the other in the Côte-de-Gaspé MRC. A third new case was reported on July 21, that case is located in Avignon as well.
All three cases are currently under investigation by the Public Health Board.
As of July 21, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Gaspé Peninsula and Magdalen Islands reached 196. Of those cases 184 (93.9%) have recovered from the virus. Currently, there are no COVID-19 related hospitalizations from the region. Regionally, fifty-two health care workers have contracted the virus, 20 are CISSS employees.
