Listuguj Outbreak: The Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government has provided an update regarding the COVID-19 outbreak in Listuguj. According to that update there are currently 13 active cases (stable). “This morning, Chief and Council held an emergency council meeting to discuss the evolving pandemic situation in Listuguj. Although we are reporting no new cases at this time, there will likely be an uptick in cases in the coming days. To encourage respect for our self-isolation guidelines, Council has unanimously passed a motion granting the Listuguj Community Health Services and the Listuguj Police Department the authority to issue fines to those who fail to follow our measures. Additional information to come,” states the update.

Listuguj residents can be tested for COVID-19 without an appointment at the Pointe-à-la-Croix CLSC. The Listuguj Government is asking residents to continue to wear a mask in public, avoid gatherings, practice social distancing, wash their hands regularly, and clean frequently touched surfaces. In addition, anyone travelling from a Red Zone is required to self-isolate upon entry. Listuguj residents traveling to a Red Zone for a day trip for essential purposes (i.e. work, school, medical appointments, custody arrangements, and necessities of life) are not required to self-isolate but must follow health and safety measures listed on the community’s website.
