Regional update: 21 new cases, mostly in Avignon

Vaccination Update

Everyone 18+ may now book an appointment by clicking here, there are currently many availabilities in the region.

Teens: Starting May 25, teens aged between 12 and 17 will be able to book appointments for a vaccination, Pfizer is the approved vaccine for this age group in Quebec. There will be two options for this age group.

Through the Schools: the weeks of June 7 and 14, at a vaccination clinic or mobile clinic, depending on the region. If required, students will be bussed to a vaccination clinic. This option will be available for both public and private schools.
By Appointment: Vaccinations will take place at a vaccination clinic, by appointment, with booking starting on May 25, 2021. Depending on age, the student or parent, is responsible for booking the appointment and transport. Availabilities will continue throughout the summer to reach adolescents who were unable to use the in-school option for one reason or another. Students who turn 12 during the summer will be able to get vaccinated after their birthday, before returning to classes.

The second dose of the vaccine will be administered when school resumes in the fall of 2021, or before then if possible, more information will be available during the summer.

Adolescents aged 12 and 13 will need the consent of a parent or legal guardian to be vaccinated. The school will provide the COVID-19 vaccination consent form that must be signed by the child’s parental authority. Adolescents 14 and up do not require parental consent for the COVID-19 vaccination. Spec will post a link to the consent form when it becomes available.
